Chickens always come in two sizes which are the bantams and the large. This is one of the first things that you need to think about. You have to consider the size of your chicken house, and the number that you will want to care for daily.
Bantam chickens are pretty small in size. In fact, they are only about twenty five percent as big as the standard breed. If you find that you don’t have a lot of space, but still want several chickens then this is the perfect size for you. This type of breed is more friendlier and will lay eggs that are smaller than other chickens.
Standard and large breed chickens are one in the same. They are the chickens that supply us with the grade A large eggs. People who are getting chickens in order to sell eggs will want to get this size of bird.
